New Beginnings!

Good morning ladies! I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! We certainly did, we ended up having a huge B-B-Q here at our house for the big day! I once again somehow got it sprung on me last minute, I am serious, I was sitting here the morning of the 4th just enjoying the quietness and settling into my easy chair thinking I was gonna have a quiet day here at home with my hubby, kids and grandbaby, when all of a sudden I hear the words......I will be with you today silly, from my brother, I said what? What are we doing? He says talk to the man you live with...........I ran outside and said to Steve......WHAT have you done???? He says well all I did was tell your brother and sister we were going to have a quiet day at home and then watch the fire works from our front lawn, well needless to say they all now have invited themselves for the day and for a bbq, well then my sister calls my mom who then calls me and says did you call your other sisters, well I certainly had to call them after mom asks me that!!! Then baby sister calls and says oh someone else wants to come and I say who and she says her friends family, then Steve invites some of his family ......Needless to say hubby owes me BIG!!! He seems to do this to me quite a bit lately, I really am a quiet, stay at home kinda gal, and I don't mind company but 20 or more at once is a lot in this small house!!! Now later this month my mom and her sister want to do a get together with all the girls in the family and guess who's house they feel it would be best to meet at?........Yup you got it. MINE!!! I love my Mommy and my family so again I will be running around like a chick with her head cut off so as to not disappoint anyone!!!

The summer weather has been very strange here in New England, we have rain just about everyday! Off and on it goes so you can't really plan anything for outdoors and it was that way on the 4th it rained off and on so that certainly did not help doing the bbq!!!
Now onto the title of my post, I am now watching a 3 moth old gorgeous baby boy full time!!! I am so excited about this as I am now starting to feel like I am able to contribute financially to our household, but boy am I TIRED!!! I still watch my other little boy who will be 2 in a couple of months so my days are even fuller then before and my day starts a whole lot earlier, and I am so not used to being up early at all, I hope I get used to it quickly!! It's a new beginning for me to be able to help money wise but still be at home, I also love knowing I can help out another mother by mothering their little ones while they need to be away, it's a good feeling!

Life is all about seasons you know? Some seasons are longer or shorter then others, and really the time I will have with these little ones before they go off to school will go by quickly I am sure, but it will be an important season, as this is the season of a lot of love and nurturing, and I am happy to be the one to give them that!!:0)

I hope you all have a very wonderful and Blessed rest of your week! I am not sure if I will be back to post this week, but I will be around to read your great posts!!! Take Care and God Bless!!

I pray you feel the wonderful Blessings that only god can give on you this week!!~Wendy

It sounds like it turned out to be lots of fun at your house on the fourth, but I understand your dilemma completely. Your husbnad sounds like he is similar to mine. I am a homebody too, but my husband loves to be surrounded by lots of people. I enjoy having company, but I prefer to have lots of time to prepare so I can make sure they have everything they need. My husband doesn't care if we are ready for company or not, because he is always in the mood for a party. Oh well, life is certainly an adventure when opposites attract. Blessings to you.

Wendy I'm all about quiet and relaxing, I woulda been running around like a chicken with its head cut off if I was in your shoes! The last big family gathering we had was to welcome Amelia to the family, that was 2 summers ago! Glad your 4th BBQ went well and you had fun!
I have babysat for over 30 years, and thought I was done til we had Miss A!! Now I have her here 4 days a week and it is as exhausting as it is rewarding and a priceless, I could not ask for a more precious baby girl!! She is all about her Papa now that he is laid off, Its Papa all day long, sooooooo cute!! Enjoy your babies and you are right, it feels so good to know you are doing something so special for these kids, AND they are so lucky to have you!! Have a great week sweetie! xoxo

Hi Wendy - so much for your quiet weekend huh? I am the only one in my family that has the whole gang over anymore so it is the same here. But that's OK - I want everyone to feel like they want to be here! At least they go home after and it is nice and quiet then! LOL

What a great season you are in. I nurtured other mom's kids for over 20 years and it was the best job ever. You really feel like you are making a difference. That job and being a geriatric nurse were the most fulfilling jobs I have had -outside of being a MOM and WIFE that is.

I am sorry you didn't get the same gorgeous weekend we had. 3 days of perfect weather but back to rain today.

Enjoy the little ones and don't forget to make some time for YOU!

hugs, Linda

Congrats on your new nanny adventure! What lucky children to have you to take care of them. And it's great that you will earn some money too.

I know all too well about the impromptu dinner parties! LOL! Glad it worked out, but I know how frustrating it can be at times.

At least the next gatehring is planned, right?

Have a great week!

Ooh, I understand! We had 30-35 people here on the 4th. It started RAINING just as the bbq was done and the food was out. Luckily, our new neighbors had a screen tent that all of the food fit under! Thank goodness! We have a HUGE tree in the yard that kept the people dry, so it wasn't a complete ruin! After our meal the sun came out and the rest of the day was gorgeous. Go figure! LOL

I'm glad you all had fun together. After all, I guess that's what it's all about!

Wow You did have a big last minute gathering! I would have been a wreck trying to get all that together.

I know it feels good to contribute financially and still be at home - the best of both worlds.

That IS alot of people, Wendy! I can just imagine what a sweet hostess you are! And your home just has that comfortable feeling...it's quite a compliment to you that everyone wants to be there!

I'm glad those babies have you! I know it's hard for moms to leave their babies and it gives them peace of mind to have someone nurturing for them! I would hate the getting up early too...I'm not much of a morning person...only when I have to be! :)

Glad you had a great 4th!

Blessings,
Tammy

Your home TRULY must be cozy if all the family want to come there!

Sometimes it's a good thing that we love our husbands, isn't it? You're a good sport to open your doors to everyone, Wendy. Those last-minute gatherings often turn out to be the best and most enjoyable ones.

Great news about more babysitting clients too!

Awe Wendy, you're such a good sport! And it's the impromptu things that are easier for me. If something's not, as there surely will be, I say, sorry it's not done, then forget about it and have fun! Enjoy your family, life's going so quickly! Karen

Sounds like quite the BBQ! I'm the same way, need to know in advance when a "crowd" is coming over. :) Hope you had a great weekend!

What a surprise that would be to have 20 guests after planning a quiet day at home! I'm sure it all was wonderful just being together but yeah, your hubby owes you. hehe!
